- In this Church / lie the mortal remains of / SUSANNAH ELIZABETH
/ relict of JOHN HUSSEY DELAVAL / Baron DELAVAL / of Seaton Delaval
and Fordcastle / in the county of Northumberland / she departed
this life at Matlock / August 29 AD 1822 / aged 59 years.

- In memory of / MARY wife of the Revd JOHN WOLLEY (late HURT)
/ Vicar of Breaston Co Nottingham / & eldest daughter &
coheiress of the late / ADAM WOLLEY Esquire of Matlock / she died
3rd May 1844 aged 45 / Her faith was sincere & evident / but
without ostentation / Respected for her superior sound judgement
/ Beloved for her amiable qualities by all who / knew her, especially
her poor neighbours / amongst whom she was ever affable &
benificient / She left a husband & seven children / to lament
the loss of one of the / most affectionate of wives & mothers
/ Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord.

- Sacred / to the pious memory of / Mr ROBERT CLIFFE / late of
the Wold in this parish born in Farnley in / the parish of Leeds
in the county of York Febry / the 22d anno 1620 and died March
the 24th 1696 / aged 76 years. He was thrice married first to
DOROTHY the daughter of Mr THOMAS PRIME of / Weston in this county
by whom he had no issue / secondly to ELIZABETH eldest daughter
of Coll. NATHANIEL BARTON Of Caldwell in this county / who died
of and with her first child thirdly / to MARGARET the soul surviving
daughter to / ROGER WOMBWELL of Wombwell in the county / of York
Esquire who was his sorrowful and / mournful relict by whom he
had three sons / and one daugter, first WILLIAM born July the
/ 31st 1679 secondly NATHANIELL born December the 11th 1680 thirdly
MARTHA born June the 24th / 1682 and died November the 5th 1693
fourthly / JOHN born January the 4th 1683 he was the most / pious,
the kindest and mercifullest of men, the best of / fathers, the
kindest of masters & the lovingest of / husbands As for your
fathers, where are they and do the Prophets live for ever.

wyeffe wch ANTHONIE dyethe iiij daye of September in the yere
of our Lord mºdºlxxviij (aged) lxxij on whose soules
God hathe taken mercy on".

- This tablet erected by AUGUSTUS GORDON Esq / (formerly of His
Majestys 33rd Regt) / and HENRIETTA his wife / late of Everton
in the county of Nottingham / in memory of their beloved children
/ SARAH ELIZABETH died April 5th 1834 aged 7 / EMMA MARIA died
April 19th 1834 aged 9 / ROBERT SPRAGGING died April 21st 1834
aged 3 / CYRUS AUGUSTUS died May lst 1834 aged 6 / They were born
at Everton and died at Matlock Bath / Their remains are deposited
in the north part / of this Churchyard / They were lovely and
pleasant in their lives / and in their death they were not divided.

- Near this place were intered the remains of ADAM WOLLEY of Allen
Hill in this parish and of GRACE his wife / He was born in the
year 1558, married at / the parish Church of Darley on the first
day / of October 1581 and after continuing in wedlock / with his
said wife for the long period of / 76 years, died in the month
of August 1657 in the / hundredth year of his age / She was born
in the year 1559 and died in the / month of July 1669 aged 110
/ And for the purpose of recording so extraordinary / but well
authenticated an instance of longevity / and long continuence
in the state of wedlock, their / great, great, great, great grandson
ADAM WOLLEY / of this parish Gentleman caused this c memorial
/ to be erected in the year 1824.

& overseers of / the poor or ye major part of them / for ever
/ DANIEL CLARK late of Matlock yemd gave by / his last will dated
June ye 20th 1726 ten / shillings yearly for ever to be paid out
/ of his whole estate into ye hands of JOHN / WOOLLEY & GEORGE
SOWTER & their heirs / sucksessily together with ye over-seers
/ of ye poor to be distributed to 20 of / ye poorest familys in
ye parish.

14b GEORGE SPATEMAN late / of Cliff House in the county / of Derby
gent gave by his / last will the sum of 80 pounds / to ye use
of a Free School in / Matlock for ye education of / poor children
& like wise gave ye / sum of 20 pounds for ye use of / the
poor of Matlock parish, for / ever, to be distributed by the /
overseers of ye poor. This will is / dated the 27 March Anno Dom
1647 / which sum is laid out in / house & land at Alfreton.

14c ANTHONY WOOLLEY / late of Matlock gent gave by / his last
will dated July the 17 anno / dom 1668 towards ye maintainance
/ of a Free School in Matlock, five / pounds per annum for ever
& that / a peece of land be set apart by his / executors and
upon default here / of to be paid out of his estate at Riber /
JOSHUA BRADLEY late of Matlock / left by his last will dated March
15th 1738 / ten shillings a year to be paid into ye hands / of
Mr WIGLEY HAYWARD, Mr JOHN WOLLEY / & their heirs successively
out of the rents / of a Close called Allcock lying in Matlock
/ Bank to be then distribution amongst 20 / of the poorest families
of Matlock.
